The Transport Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the organization's transportation operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods, materials, and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily transport operations.
- Plan and optimize delivery and transportation routes.
- Supervise drivers and transport personnel.
- Prepare driver schedules and monitor attendance and performance.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and inspected.
- Monitor fuel consumption and transportation costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and other departments to ensure timely deliveries.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and customer complaints.
- Maintain accurate vehicle, driver, fuel, and transportation records.
- Monitor transport KPIs and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
- Manage external transport contractors and service providers when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in transport, logistics, or fleet management.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Good knowledge of fleet management and transportation operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and transport/fleet management systems.
