Job Scope Summary
The Electrical and HVAC Tradesman supports overall plant operation and maintenance in compliance with established production schedules and requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out routine HVAC preventive maintenance.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on electrical motors and switchgear.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance in the power plant, including LV switchgear and control panels.
- Follow permit-to-work systems, method statements, and safety instructions.
- Read and follow electrical drawings, O&M manuals, and relevant technical information.
- Complete assigned activities throughout the shift and stage required parts from the warehouse.
- Update work-order progress reports and complete shift handovers with equipment status information.
- Maintain safe work practices, attend HSE inspections and meetings, and report incidents or HSE breaches.
- Clean work areas after assignments and comply with national and local electrical codes.
- Conduct risk identification, analysis, and assessments.
Education and Training
- A Diploma of Electrical Engineering or equivalent certification is required.
- HSE-accredited training qualifications are required.
Experience and Knowledge
- At least five years of experience as an electrician technician in the facilities or power industry is required.
- Familiarity with HSE standards, procedures, and electrical plant equipment requirements is required.
- Experience using a CMMS and Windows-related software is preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Safety focus, technical expertise, accountability, adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork are required.
- The role requires practical knowledge of the functional area and the ability to resolve technical challenges.
- The role requires reliability, ability to work under pressure, conflict-management ability, assertiveness, and service orientation.
- Intermediate English-language proficiency is required.
