Maintain the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and equipment through inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
Organize, prepare, and execute planned boiler outages under the guidance of senior engineering and maintenance management.
Outage and Maintenance Responsibilities
- Lead planned boiler outages from scope definition and planning through contractor selection, execution, commissioning, and reporting.
- Supervise contractors, enforce safety rules, optimize maintenance programs, and collaborate with production teams.
- Prepare scopes of work, support procurement and tenders, attend HSE and ISO activities, and contribute to budgets.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems while recording equipment and maintenance history.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
- At least 5 years of Mechanical Engineer experience is required.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, or rotating equipment is required.
- Experience with boilers, turbines, and major plant turnarounds or outages is required.
- Experience in Waste-to-Energy, power generation, or continuous-fire industries is advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of CMMS and related software is required.
- Familiarity with HSE standards and industrial safety requirements for pressurized gases, chemicals, and lasers is required.
- Knowledge of Waste-to-Energy assets including boilers, pressure vessels, conveyors, cranes, pumps, compressors, fans, exchangers, tanks, and piping is required.
- English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are required.
