Role Overview
The Telephone Operator handles guest calls and provides professional, customer-focused responses.
The role supports memorable guest experiences through efficient communication and telephone service.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive guest calls professionally and warmly.
- Communicate with related departments to support smooth service delivery.
- Handle guest queries politely and work to exceed expectations.
- Greet guests by name according to Rotana standards.
- Maintain knowledge of the hotel and local services.
- Use the Opera guest profile system to maintain awareness of guest profiles.
- Complete long-distance call vouchers and record them on the traffic sheet.
- Maintain the wake-up call sheet and deliver calls on time.
- Operate the switchboard to transfer internal and external calls efficiently.
- Take messages for guests and management according to standards.
Education and Experience
- A diploma or degree in hospitality is ideally preferred.
- Similar previous work experience is ideally preferred.
- Previous experience with Opera is advantageous.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential.
- Strong voice modulation abilities are essential.
- Computer literacy is expected.
- The candidate should be customer-driven, proactive, outgoing, and approachable.
- The role requires working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork, adaptability, customer focus, and responsibility are emphasized.
