Role Overview

The Technical Product Manager owns the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise data management products, data platforms, and data processing solutions.

The role defines desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products and ensures they meet business, customer, and operational needs.

The role represents business users, data consumers, and platform stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Product Strategy and Delivery

  • Own the product vision and roadmap and align them with enterprise data strategy, governance priorities, platform scalability, and processing capabilities.
  • Develop and communicate product strategy, vision, and roadmap with business, data, analytics, and technology stakeholders.
  • Support portfolio Kanban flow into the product backlog and reprioritize the backlog with the Product Owner.
  • Present product vision, proposed features, platform enhancements, processing capabilities, and milestones during Program Increment planning.

Architecture and Agile Delivery

  • Work with Solution Architects, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers to maintain non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure products meet quality, scalability, security, governance, and performance standards.
  • Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Sequence the architectural runway for business functionality, data integration, and scalable processing solutions.
  • Facilitate system demos for stakeholder review and approval.

Measurement and Governance

  • Support measurement of adoption, customer insights, data quality, platform performance, processing efficiency, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide progress updates, manage dependencies, risks, and issues, and escalate to the Senior Product Manager and Release Train Engineer when required.
