Role Overview

The Supplier & Cost Management Specialist - Technology drives technology spend governance, supplier performance management, commercial evaluation, and cost optimization.

The role supports the Digital Technology & Innovation portfolio and works with Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Business stakeholders.

Accountabilities

  • Govern technology expenditure across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, managed services, and professional services.
  • Develop spend forecasts, financial models, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and financial planning activities.
  • Prepare business cases and commercial evaluations using TCO, ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback analysis.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and supplier management.
  • Establish supplier governance and conduct reviews covering delivery, compliance, risk, innovation, and cost optimization.
  • Execute cost optimization initiatives and track a technology savings portfolio.
  • Use analytics to identify spend anomalies, supplier risks, cost reduction opportunities, and efficiencies.
  • Support strategic sourcing and investment decisions through data-driven insights.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technology finance, IT commercial management, vendor management, strategic sourcing, technology cost management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience managing significant technology spend portfolios and delivering measurable cost optimization outcomes.
  • Experience in enterprise technology procurement, software licensing, cloud and infrastructure cost management, supplier negotiations, and executive reporting.
  • Strong expertise in technology spend management, financial planning and analysis, commercial modelling, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, Power Query, and Pivot Tables.
  • Power BI experience is desirable.
  • MBA, CIPS, CFA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
