The Technology Supplier & Cost Management Specialist drives technology spend governance, supplier performance management, commercial evaluation, and cost optimization across the Digital Technology & Innovation portfolio.
The role partners with Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Business stakeholders to improve cost transparency, investment value, financial control, and supplier outcomes.
Accountabilities
- Govern technology expenditure across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, managed services, and professional services portfolios.
- Develop spend forecasts, financial models, dashboards, and executive reporting for decision-making and budget management.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation models, and financial planning with Technology and Finance teams.
- Build technology investment business cases using TCO, ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback analysis.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and supplier management activities.
- Establish supplier governance and review service delivery, contractual compliance, risk, innovation, and cost optimization.
- Execute cost optimization initiatives across technology licensing, cloud, infrastructure, managed services, and workforce expenditure.
- Track savings and use analytics to identify anomalies, supplier risks, cost reduction opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in technology finance, IT commercial management, vendor management, strategic sourcing, technology cost management, or related disciplines.
- Experience managing significant technology spend portfolios and delivering measurable cost optimization and value realization outcomes.
- Experience in large enterprises with technology procurement, software licensing, cloud and infrastructure cost management, supplier negotiations, and executive reporting.
Required capabilities
- Strong expertise in technology spend management, financial planning and analysis, commercial modelling, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, Power Query, and Pivot Tables.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical capability, stakeholder management, influencing skills, executive communication, and results orientation.
- Power BI experience is desirable. MBA, CIPS, CFA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
