Role Description
The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for supporting project execution through preparation, review, and coordination of technical documentation, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
The role ensures compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and UAE regulations while facilitating smooth coordination between site teams, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- **Documentation Management:**
- Prepare, review, and track technical submittals, shop drawings, material submittals, and Method Statements.
- **Design & Shop Drawings:**
- Develop, coordinate, and review shop drawings (structural, architectural, or MEP) to ensure compliance with project specifications, IFC drawings, and local authority regulations.
- **Technical Queries (RFI):**
- Prepare and follow up on Requests for Information (RFI) to resolve design discrepancies with consultants and clients.
- **Subcontractor Support:**
- Coordinate and manage submittals and shop drawings with subcontractors, ensuring timely approval and construction adherence.
- **Quantity Surveying:**
- Conduct quantity take-offs, prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and assist in cost estimation.
- **As-Built Drawings:**
- Prepare and submit final As-built drawings at the end of the project.
- **Site Support:**
- Provide technical guidance to site engineers, ensuring the execution complies with approved technical documents.
- **Reporting:**
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
· Minimum 4–5 years of experience in a contracting company in the UAE
· Strong knowledge of shop drawings and construction detailing
· High proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office
· Strong understanding of UAE construction standards, local authority regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality), and FIDIC contracts
· Strong coordination and communication skills
· Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
· Experience with Primavera P6 for schedule monitoring
