Purpose of the Job
Diagnose and test vehicles to determine symptoms and repair needs so repairs are completed correctly the first time.
Perform final inspections of completed repairs and ensure customer requests are addressed in a timely manner.
Key Accountabilities
- Confirm the repair symptom with the customer so the required repair is understood.
- Conduct diagnostics to identify causes, repairs, and parts to be replaced.
- Stop work and seek regional TMC support when the cause of a symptom cannot be identified.
- Place identification markers on vehicles for repair or maintenance.
- Perform final inspections of completed repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.
Major Activities
- Confirm customer repair requests using the job order form.
- Document diagnostics, required repairs, and replacement parts on the job order form.
- Confirm availability of required repair parts with the Parts Advisor.
- Explain work performed and estimated completion time to the customer.
- Identify the appropriate technician using the technician skill board.
- Verify with the customer that the repair request has been resolved.
Minimum Qualifications
- Vocational or technical school graduation or equivalent is required.
- At least 10 years of automotive experience is required.
- Computer literacy is required.
