Job Summary
Veolia is seeking a Skid Design Engineer for a technical lead role supporting water treatment systems.
The role combines mechanical design expertise with technical leadership and customer-focused project delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop skid designs from basic engineering documents and prepare equipment and foundation layouts.
- Create 3D models and extract annotated 2D drawings for skid deliverables.
- Review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, pipe routing, and model quality.
- Prepare bills of quantity, support spacing information, clash reports, and compliance reports.
- Lead peer reviews and participate in model reviews from concept through completion.
- Lead a group of engineers and assist with manufacturing shop problem solving.
- Manage material requisitions while considering customer specifications, schedule, budget, and productivity.
Must-Have Requirements
- Mechanical engineering degree or experience in mechanical engineering.
- Eight to twelve years of mechanical design experience.
- Experience with Inventor, AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to perform skid design, piping layout, drawing extraction, annotation, and peer reviews.
- Knowledge of international specifications for structures, piping, and vessels.
- Knowledge of listed carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel piping materials.
- Ability to lead engineers and support manufacturing problem solving.
Good-to-Have Requirements
- Ability to create standard P&ID templates with legends, blocks, attributes, spreadsheet links, and attribute extraction.
- Ability to review isometrics and 3D models to select suitable pipe support types.
- Experience attending onsite meetings as an analysis team representative and handling customer-facing interactions.
