Autorun OJC is seeking a Technical Expert for EV vehicles (Omoda, JAECOO, iCAUR) in Dubai. The role involves advanced diagnostics, high-voltage safety compliance, OEM coordination, and technician coaching.

Responsibilities
- Lead advanced troubleshooting for EV systems: battery pack, BMS, inverter, motor, DC DC, onboard charger, thermal management, AC/DC charging, HV interlock
- Interpret DTCs, live data, and test results using OEM diagnostic tools to identify root cause
- Provide technical support for difficult cases, repeat repairs, and intermittent faults
- Enforce high voltage safety procedures: isolation, lockout/tagout, PPE compliance
- Verify workshop readiness for EV service, including tooling, calibration, and HV work area compliance
- Liaise with OEM technical support for escalations, service bulletins, software updates, and campaign actions
- Prepare high quality technical documentation for warranty submissions
- Coach technicians on diagnostic process, correct repair standards, and EV best practices
- Deliver structured training sessions on new models, new systems, and diagnostic tools
- Drive improvement in workshop KPIs including fix right first rate, comeback rate, diagnosis time, and warranty cost control
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s in automotive engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar
- 5+ years in automotive technical diagnosis and repair, with at least 2 years in EV or hybrid systems
- Strong hands on capability in battery systems and BMS diagnostics, HV electrical architecture, charging systems, CAN communication, thermal management
- Experience with OEM diagnostic tools, guided diagnostics, flashing/coding, and log extraction
- Experience with Chinese brands, especially Omoda, JAECOO, iCAUR or similar

Role Summary
- The Technical Expert is responsible for complex EV diagnosis and repair support, high voltage safety compliance, OEM technical coordination, and technician coaching.
- This role will drive improved fix right first performance, reduce repeat repairs, and support an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead advanced troubleshooting for EV systems: battery pack, BMS, inverter, motor, DC DC, onboard charger, thermal management, AC/DC charging, HV interlock.
- Interpret DTCs, live data, and test results using OEM diagnostic tools to identify root cause and correct repair pathway.
- Provide technical support for difficult cases, repeat repairs, and intermittent faults across workshop operations.
- Enforce high voltage safety procedures: isolation, lockout/tagout, PPE compliance, and safe work practices.
- Verify workshop readiness for EV service, including tooling, calibration, and HV work area compliance.
- Liaise with OEM technical support for escalations, service bulletins, software updates, and campaign actions.
- Prepare high quality technical documentation for warranty submissions: logs, photos, measurements, and structured root cause analysis.
- Track repeated issues and propose corrective actions to improve quality and reduce warranty cost.
- Coach technicians on diagnostic process, correct repair standards, and EV best practices.
- Deliver structured training sessions on new models, new systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Drive improvement in workshop KPIs including fix right first rate, comeback rate, diagnosis time, and warranty cost control.
- Support implementation of standard repair procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s in automotive engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar.
- 5+ years in automotive technical diagnosis and repair, with at least 2 years in EV or hybrid systems.
- Strong hands on capability in battery systems and BMS diagnostics, HV electrical architecture and insulation testing, charging systems (AC and DC) and charging fault diagnosis, CAN communication and network fault isolation, thermal management systems.
- Experience with OEM diagnostic tools, guided diagnostics, flashing/coding, and log extraction.
- Experience with Chinese brands is highly preferred, especially Omoda, JAECOO, iCAUR or similar.
Certifications (Preferred)
- EV or High Voltage certification (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- OEM technical certification(s)
- Relevant safety certifications for electrical work and workshop operations

- Structured problem solving and root cause analysis mindset
- Strong communication and reporting, able to explain technical issues clearly
- High ownership, able to manage escalations and critical cases
- Coaching mindset with strong workshop leadership presence
- Comfortable working across multiple teams including warranty, parts, and service advisors
