Role Overview
Lead the London mechanical building services team as a Technical Director.
Provide team leadership, client development, operational oversight, budget management, and strategic direction.
Support profitable and sustainable growth across the South Region and wider MEP business.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day team management, vision, values, and cooperation.
- Develop client relationships and promote new commissions.
- Meet team budgets, support MEP budget planning, and maintain accurate forecasting.
- Oversee work pipeline, finance, operational management, and team performance.
- Work with clients, developers, contractors, and architects to secure WSP's position as engineer of choice.
- Act as the client's key point of contact and identify additional business opportunities.
Required Experience
- Experience in business development and managing large teams of MEP professionals.
- Technical Director, Director, or experienced Associate Director experience within an engineering consultancy.
- Building services experience across a range of projects.
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, and sustainable building design from concept through technical design stages.
- Ability to obtain UK Security Check vetting.
Professional Qualification
- Chartership through CIBSE, IET, or IMechE Engineering Council, or willingness to work towards it, is accepted.
Working Pattern
- The role is based in WSP's Chancery Lane office in central London.
- WSP's hybrid policy offers flexibility to work from home two days per week.
