The role owns measurement quality and requires resolving abnormal readings before they affect clients.
Employment and Workplace
- The position is full-time and on-site in Dubai, UAE.
- The role reports to a Technical Manager and includes rotating shifts, including night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor live flow data from installed meters during assigned shifts.
- Validate oil, gas, water, and solids rates against expected well behavior and identify measurement abnormalities.
- Perform remote meter configuration, including PVT updates, fluid-property changes, and solver adjustments.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues remotely where possible.
- Prepare work orders for field intervention with required tools, parts, and checks.
- Prepare well test reports, allocation figures, and measurement summaries for clients.
- Maintain configuration records, change logs, and audit trails.
- Provide documented shift handovers.
- Support field teams remotely during installation and commissioning.
- Escalate firmware and algorithm matters to the equipment manufacturer.
- Contribute to procedures, troubleshooting guides, and client training materials.
Essential Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation and Control Engineering is required.
- At least five years of oil and gas experience, including three years in flow measurement, is required.
- Hands-on experience with one or more listed flow-measurement applications is required.
- Knowledge of reservoir-fluid behavior, P&IDs, instrument documentation, SCADA, historians, time-series trends, Modbus, and OPC is required.
- Strong written and spoken English and client technical-reporting ability are required.
- Full-time on-site availability in Dubai and rotating-shift availability are required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Gamma or nuclear densitometry-based multiphase-meter experience is desirable.
- Experience supporting US onshore operators in the Permian, Bakken, or Eagle Ford is desirable.
- Oilfield-services experience in well testing or production measurement is desirable.
- Python or SQL knowledge for data analysis and reporting is desirable.
- Experience in a remote technical-support or operations-centre environment is desirable.
