Overview
- Oversee the overall operations and financial performance of the logistics department.
- Manage the procurement of ocean freight and local/cross-border transport from vendors.
- Supervise the in-house fleet of trucks and logistics staff, including warehouse managers and logistics agents.
- Build relationships with government authorities and ensure smooth customs clearance.
- Handle MENA duty exemptions, dangerous goods permit, and temporary import duty refunds.
- Ensure operations comply with company policies and trade regulations.
- Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking vendors, and air/ocean carriers.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with shipping carriers.
- Manage documentation such as bills of lading, export permits, and other regulatory documents.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
- Coordinate booking space with shipping lines, cargo pickup/delivery, and submission of required documentation.
- Identify opportunities to optimize logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management regarding operational performance.
