Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of social workers
- Establish schedules and assign work
- Provide input to department head regarding performance of social workers
- Manage charity fund and disburse financial assistance to patients as per eligibility criteria
- Prepare disbursement reports
- Design orientation programme and competency check list for new social workers
- Supervise performance and progress of new social workers
- Oversee social worker interns activities in coordination with university supervisor
- Maintain information regarding hospital policies and procedures and ensure social workers are aware
- Revise, develop, recommend and implement new or existing departmental policies and procedures
- Ensure effective communication with patient care team and other staff
- Supervise daily operation of the morgue and patient hospitality building as assigned
Requirements
- Supervisory experience in social work or related field
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
- Ability to manage charity fund and disburse financial assistance
- Experience in designing orientation programs and competency checklists
- Effective communication with patient care team and staff

- PROVIDES INPUT TO DEPARTMENT HEAD REGARDING PERFORMANCE OF SOCIAL WORKERS.
- MANAGES CHARITY FUND AS ASSIGNED, DISBURSE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS AS PER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.
- PREPARE DISBURSEMENT REPORTS.
- DESIGNS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME AND COMPETENCY CHECK LIST FOR THE NEW SOCIAL WORKERS.
- SUPERVISE THEIR PERFORMANCE AND PROGRESS, OVERSEES THE SOCIAL WORKERS INTERNS ACTIVITIES IN COORDINATION WITH THE CONCERNED UNIVERSITY SUPERVISOR.
- MAINTAINS INFORMATION REGARDING THE HOSPITAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND ENSURES THAT SOCIAL WORKERS ARE AWARE OF THESE AND ANY CHANGES.
- REVISES, DEVELOPS, RECOMMENDS AND IMPLEMENTS NEW OR EXISTING DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
- ENSURES EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION WITH PATIENT CARE TEAM, OTHER CONCERNED STAFF AND SOCIAL WORKERS TO ENSURE AWARENESS OF DEPARTMENTAL SERVICES AND PROGRAMMES.
- RECOMMENDS ACTION FOR CORRECTIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS OF DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES.
