About the Role
Petrofac seeks a Superintendent - Construction (Lifting) to oversee lifting and hauling operations at an oil & gas construction site. The role requires planning, scheduling, and executing lifts with a focus on safety and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Develop lift and haul schedules and optimize utilization of lifting resources
- Plan, select cranes, lifting gear, and equipment, and provide safety instructions
- Ensure lifting activities are planned, scheduled, and executed with highest regard for safety
- Support development of method statements and JSAs
- Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and lifting/hauling compliance
- Monitor project lifting and rigging operations for compliance with approved plans
- Oversee day to day cranes and lifting activities at site
- Ensure all lifting/hauling equipment is maintained, inspected, and certified
- Ensure personnel involved in lifting/hauling are trained and certified
- Conduct training of rigging personnel and VOC assessments
- Review and approve lift plans, rigging procedures, and lift studies
- Establish effective defect and incident reporting procedures
Requirements
- 12+ years rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company
- Minimum 8 years experience as a rigging supervisor
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Lifting Superintendent
- College graduate, preferably an engineer
- Extensive knowledge of lifting and rigging international standards (ASME, OSHA, LOLER)
- Formal training by approved third party institute accredited by OPITO (e.g., NPORS BV)
- Ability to produce working reports
- Ability to coordinate SIMOPS
- Ability to train and qualify riggers, rigging supervisors, and crane operators
- Working knowledge of lifting drawings and calculations
- General knowledge in inspection of lifting gears and equipment

Knowledge & Qualifications
- 12+ years rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company.

- Minimum 2 years experience as a Lifting Superintendent.
- College graduate, preferably an engineer.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in CIS/FSU, Middle East, and/or North Africa.
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce.
Skills & Competencies
- Good communications skills.
- Extensive knowledge of lifting and rigging international standards (ASME, OSHA, LOLER).
- Trained and competent in accordance with local legal requirements (e.g., Abu Dhabi EHSMS).
- Formal training by approved third party institute accredited by OPITO (e.g., NPORS BV).
- Able to produce working reports.
