Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day HSE activities in accordance with designated areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain necessary HSE MS documentation for the project.
  • Initiate and support HSE Awareness programs and campaigns.
  • Application of hazard identification and risk assessment processes and implementation of appropriate control measures.
  • Participate in the review of the effectiveness of hazard controls/mitigations.
  • Participate in implementing HSE lessons learned within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Provide input to the HSE component of the action tracking system.
  • Ensure HSE requirements are communicated to all relevant personnel and verify compliance.
  • Assist fully in the investigation of incidents and near misses.
  • Organize and participate fully in all compliance assurance audits, inspections, performance meetings.
  • Ensure Objectives, Policies and Procedures are implemented in designated areas of responsibility.
  • Provide input HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON, ENVID, QRA Workshops organized by HSE Design.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree (4 years) OR Diploma (3 years) from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees.
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.
  • Lead or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001/ ISO 14001).
  • Incident Investigation techniques.
  • Minimum 8 10 years’ experience in HSE in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects / operations in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.

Skills and Competencies

  • Have strong understanding of the HSE issues, practices and behavioral aspects in the Oil & Gas EPC business.
  • Able to lead a team of HSE personnel such as HSE officers, Hygiene officers etc.
  • Sound understanding of the HSE Management System and HSE legislative requirements.
  • Ability to develop and implement HSE plans, Welfare plans, Emergency response procedures/plans and site specific HSE procedures / work instructions.
  • Practical experience in implementation of Safe System of Work (PTW/ WMS/ Risk Assessment etc.).
  • Ability to conduct training/awareness sessions on relevant HSE procedures applicable to the scope of work.
  • Ability to implement practical H2S control measures.
  • Ability to conduct HSE audits and inspections.
  • Ability to investigate incidents, identify immediate and root causes.
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills in English.
