About the Role

Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day HSE activities in accordance with designated areas of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain necessary HSE MS documentation for the project.
- Initiate and support HSE Awareness programs and campaigns.
- Apply hazard identification and risk assessment processes and implement appropriate control measures.
- Participate in the review of the effectiveness of hazard controls/mitigations.
- Participate in implementing HSE lessons learned within designated areas of responsibility.
- Provide input to the HSE component of the action tracking system.
- Ensure HSE requirements are communicated to all relevant personnel and verify compliance.
- Assist fully in the investigation of incidents and near misses.
- Organize and participate fully in all compliance assurance audits, inspections, performance meetings.
- Ensure Objectives, Policies and Procedures are implemented in designated areas of responsibility.
- Provide input to HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON, ENVID, QRA Workshops organized by HSE Design.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree (4 years) or Diploma (3 years) from an authorized institution
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent
- Lead or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001/ ISO 14001)
- Incident Investigation techniques
- Minimum 8 10 years’ experience in HSE in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects in oil & gas or petrochemical industries
- Strong understanding of HSE issues, practices and behavioral aspects in Oil & Gas EPC business
- Able to lead a team of HSE personnel
- Sound understanding of HSE Management System and HSE legislative requirements
- Ability to develop and implement HSE plans, Welfare plans, Emergency response procedures
- Practical experience in Safe System of Work (PTW/ WMS/ Risk Assessment etc.)
- Ability to conduct training/awareness sessions
- Ability to implement practical H2S control measures

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree (4 years) OR Diploma (3 years) from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.
- Lead or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001/ ISO 14001).
- Incident Investigation techniques.
- Minimum 8 10 years’ experience in HSE in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects / operations in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
Skills and Competencies
- Have strong understanding of the HSE issues, practices and behavioral aspects in the Oil & Gas EPC business.
- Able to lead a team of HSE personnel such as HSE officers, Hygiene officers etc.
- Sound understanding of the HSE Management System and HSE legislative requirements.
- Ability to develop and implement HSE plans, Welfare plans, Emergency response procedures/plans and site specific HSE procedures / work instructions.
- Practical experience in implementation of Safe System of Work (PTW/ WMS/ Risk Assessment etc.).
- Ability to conduct training/awareness sessions on relevant HSE procedures applicable to the scope of work.
- Ability to implement practical H2S control measures.
- Ability to conduct HSE audits and inspections.
- Ability to investigate incidents, identify immediate and root causes.
- Effective interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills in English.
