About the Role
Petrofac is hiring a Deputy Manager - Construction (Multidiscipline) in Abu Dhabi to manage construction activities for energy projects. The role involves budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Manage the budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the construction phase in a small size project, or manage area construction activities in a Large Project
- Oversee that construction areas are constructed in a safe manner and to required quality standards within agreed budget, schedule, and construction sequence
- Establish good and transparent relationship with Client’s site representative
- Ensure appropriate licenses, permissions prior to start of site preparation, set up infrastructure facilities and mobilization of manpower at Site
- Review Project & Construction scope, Construction BOQs, Project execution plan and assess schedule and finalize construction deliverables
- Implement requirements of Construction Execution Plan, mobilization, temporary facilities, site staffing, modularization, heavy lift sequencing, etc.
- Verify Subcontractor’s execution plan and challenge for more efficient execution
- Develop clear organization chart for construction personnel and prepare staffing histogram
- Participate in project model reviews and constructability reviews
- Conduct Kickoff meeting with subcontractor and approve all subcontractor documentation
- Contribute to 90 days & 3 weeks look ahead plans, implement work in agreed sequence
- Generate regular progress reports for review by project management
Requirements
- Relevant degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
- Maximum years of experience in direct hire construction with an international E&C company
- Maximum years of Experience in the oil & gas industry
- Excellent leadership and communications skills
- Knowledge and experience to independently perform, solve complex issues and provide guidance
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- High level of commercial & cost awareness
- Experience working in CIS/FSU, Middle East, and/or North Africa preferred
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce preferred
- Experience in managing Cost Reimbursable / Unit rate structured contracts preferred

Overview
- Petrofac is a leading international service provider to the energy industry. We design, build, manage and maintain infrastructure for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the construction phase in a small size project, or manage the area construction activities in a Large Project.
- Construction Manager is the Petrofac representative at site for Construction Subcontractors for an area of a large project or for an entire site of a small project.
- In a small scale project, capable to act as Project Director during construction phase and liaise with Project Director for commercial issues.
- Oversee that the construction areas are constructed in a safe manner and to the required quality standards within agreed budget, schedule, and construction sequence.
- Establish a good and transparent relationship with Client’s site representative.
- Ensure that appropriate licenses, permissions prior to start of site preparation, set up infrastructure facilities and mobilization of manpower at Site.
- Review the Project & Construction scope, Construction BOQs, Project execution plan and assess the schedule and finalize the construction deliverables.
- Implements the requirements of the Construction Execution Plan, mobilization, temporary facilities, site staffing, modularization, heavy lift sequencing, fabrication scope, laydown requirements, equipment and fabricated items delivery sequencing, equipment and tool requirements, demobilization, etc.
- Verify the Subcontractor’s execution plan at an early stage and approve only if it aligns with Petrofac deliverables.
- Develops a clear organization chart for the construction personnel on site (area wise) and prepare a staffing with a histogram.
- Participates in project model reviews and constructability reviews.
- Conducts Kickoff meeting with subcontractor & approve all subcontractor documentation.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Maximum years of experience in direct hire construction with an international E&C company.
- Maximum years of Experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Relevant degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria: Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa.
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce.
- Experience in managing of Cost Reimbursable / Unit rate structured contracts.
- Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership and communications skills.
- Has knowledge and experience to independently perform, solve complex issues and provide guidance.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- High level of commercial & cost awareness.
