Role Overview

Egis seeks a Structural Inspector to join its supervision team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The role ensures structural works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, UAE authority requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of structural works and monitor contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Inspect concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces, and other structural elements.
  • Identify deviations and non-conformities, issue SORs and NCRs, and track corrective actions.
  • Verify testing, calibration certificates, quality records, inspection documentation, photographs, and compliance notes.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve structural issues and communicate findings through technical reports.

Quality and Site Coordination

  • Ensure works follow approved method statements, ITPs, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Use digital inspection platforms and QA/QC systems to document findings and monitor project progress.
  • Provide clear guidance to contractors and ensure health and safety protocols during inspections.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least eight years of structural site inspection experience in the UAE construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of structural materials, workmanship, defects, deterioration mechanisms, UAE codes, authority requirements, and international standards.
  • Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, ITPs, and method statements accurately.
  • Proficiency in inspection tools, site testing coordination, documentation procedures, digital inspection platforms, and technical reporting.
  • English communication skills, a valid UAE driver's license, and ability to travel between project sites are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consultant experience is preferred.
  • OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent site safety certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing NCRs and SORs, concrete testing knowledge, digital documentation skills, and photography skills are preferred.
  • Arabic language proficiency and immediate availability are preferred.

Workplace

  • The role is site based and may require access to structural elements in constrained or elevated locations and travel between project sites.
