Role Overview
The Junior Master Planner supports small- to large-scale master planning and urban design projects, particularly within the UAE.
The role requires 2–5 years of professional experience and operates under the direct supervision of a master planning or urban design lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with master planning layout studies, diagrams, illustrations, sketches, research, and analysis.
- Collaborate with landscape designers, architects, and infrastructure engineers on coordinated multidisciplinary projects.
- Provide creative input, support problem-solving, and assist with planning and urban design guidelines.
- Assist with numerical master planning calculations and produce drawings, reports, and presentations.
- Communicate task progress and master plan updates to the project lead while meeting deadlines.
- Support government and authority submission requirements, particularly for Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in master planning or urban design.
- Experience producing conceptual master plan designs, illustrative layouts, and basic numerical calculations.
- Ability to communicate client updates with guidance and demonstrate creative thinking in master planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and 3D modeling software such as Rhino or SketchUp.
Technical Skills
- The role uses Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and 3D modeling software.
- The role requires production of planning drawings, reports, presentations, guidelines, and numerical outputs.
