Job Description

The Structural Inspector will join a supervision team for a buildings project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The role ensures structural works comply with approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of structural works and monitor contractor compliance.
  • Issue Site Observation Reports and Non-Conformance Reports for deviations.
  • Inspect concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces, and other structural elements.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with engineers, architects, specialists, and contractors.
  • Verify testing, documentation, and quality records, including cube tests, FDT, plate load tests, and calibration certificates.
  • Maintain inspection records with photographs, comments, and compliance notes.
  • Ensure compliance with method statements, ITPs, QA/QC procedures, and health and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of UAE structural site inspection experience; consultant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of structural materials, workmanship, defects, UAE codes, authority requirements, and international standards.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, and method statements accurately.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools, testing coordination, technical reporting, and digital QA/QC systems.
  • English communication skills, a valid UAE driver’s license, and ability to travel between project sites.
  • Ability to access constrained or elevated structural elements and work collaboratively in varying site conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Site safety certifications such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience with NCRs, SORs, inspection software, concrete testing, steel inspection, photography, or Arabic is preferred.
  • Immediate availability to commence employment is preferred.
