Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, bridges, and other structures to assess structural integrity and compliance with building codes
- Analyze structural designs, blueprints, and technical drawings to identify potential issues
- Perform on site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications
- Utilize advanced structural analysis software to evaluate complex structural systems
- Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, deficiencies, and code violations
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to address structural issues and recommend solutions
- Stay up to date with latest building codes, regulations, and industry standards including Saudi Building Code
- Provide expert advice on structural matters to project stakeholders and government officials
- Participate in review and approval process for building permits and occupancy certificates
- Conduct post disaster assessments of structures affected by natural or man made events
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural inspection or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Relevant certifications such as ICC Structural Inspector certification highly desirable
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD programs
- In depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction materials, and methods
- Comprehensive understanding of building codes including Saudi Building Code (SBC)
- Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
- Familiarity with local construction practices and regulations in Saudi Arabia
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
