Role Overview
The Structural Engineer - Building Engineering is a mid-level role based in Calgary, Alberta.
The position focuses on structural analysis and design of commercial, residential, and institutional building systems.
The role contributes to project delivery from conceptual design through construction.
Work Arrangement
- The role operates within a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 60% on-site presence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare proposals, project scopes, cost estimates, design calculations, and stamped engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead design efforts and oversee scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Review technical outputs and validate designs for junior engineers and project deliverables.
- Develop construction drawings, tender documents, permit submissions, reports, and specifications.
- Provide technical advice, conduct site inspections, and perform construction reviews.
