Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering service proposals, support project scoping, and contribute to cost estimation.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on approvals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Perform structural analysis and prepare calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables.
  • Lead structural design activities and support scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Review and validate technical deliverables prepared by project team members.
  • Develop construction drawings, tender documentation, permit applications, and design documentation.
  • Provide technical advisory services through project execution and closeout.
  • Perform site inspections and construction reviews for compliance with design intent.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, technical memoranda, and project documentation.
  • Support project delivery and engineering coordination activities.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer designation in Ontario, in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of structural design experience in building projects.
  • Experience with commercial, residential, or institutional building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and structural design standards.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary project delivery environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, SAP, S-Frame, or WoodWorks.
  • Basic proficiency with Revit and BIM workflows.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, conducting design reviews, and developing construction documentation.
  • Valid driver's license with access to a registered and insured vehicle.

Assets

  • Institutional or large-scale commercial project experience in Canada is an asset.
  • Construction administration, field inspection, IPD, or design-build experience is an asset.
  • An advanced Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering degree is an asset.
  • Mentoring junior engineers or coordinating small engineering or design teams is an asset.
