Overview
· Maintain and manage positive working relationships with customers/ principal/ suppliers to ensure effective receivable/ payables management
· Provides relevant financial information to Influence key Store decisions
· Interfaces with bankers (Loan Repayment, CIL Schedule, Sales Collection, Card Commission), auditors (Yearend or interim audit) or statutory regularities (Compliance with Municipality requirements) etc.
· Sets performance objectives and KPI’s for all assigned employees
· Manages performance, taking corrective action, where required, on poor performers in line with policy
· Responsible for the succession planning for the different roles within Store Finance department
· Analysing Sales: Ensuring Consistency of Daily Sales Forecast, identifying low performance gaps, analysing the 20/80 performance gap, the penetration ratio and the quantity Sold
· Analysing Margin: Providing Daily Margin Analysis, identifying the margin gaps, analysing the top margins and calculating the margin of the inventories
· Analysing Inventory Differences
· Waste analysis: Providing Analysis of Waste Higher than Sales and analysis on the Top 40 Waste Items
· Staff Cost Analysis: Providing analysis on actual vs. budget, productivity and Absenteeism
· Analysing Stock Depreciation Provision
· Analysing and Reporting Monthly Stock Status Situation by Section
· Analysing Particular Aspects of Operating Expenses such as Logistic Costs, Shopping Bags, Marketing Expenses
· Analysing Store Working Capital as defined in the budget
· Analysing Weekly trend of Store Performance
· Ensuring all the insurance Coverage for Store to be complaint with law and comprehend loss is maintained.
· Analysing Risk Management Policy and implementing action in regards to Property, Cash in Safe, Cash in Transit, Stock in Safe, Stock in Transit, Fidelity and Workmen’s compensation, Public and Product Liability, 3^rd party Liability, Tennant and Neighbourhood Liability, Business Interruption or any other policy to be implemented in the Store in accordance to ABA Head office and Monoprix Central Office
· Ensuring that the cash amount in the store and cash in Transit is accurate as per Monoprix guidelines by conducting regular and surprise cash counts
· Responsible for Developing the Store monthly results reports in collaboration with Store Manager
· Defining and Controlling all Sales promotion/stock Clearance Process to meet defined targets.
In addition, controlling the Stock management aspect by overviewing data related to top line and bottom line of the store
· Monitoring OPEX vs.
Budget and Initiating Savings Plan to reduce OPEX
· Being a member within the approval route, ensure respect for stock and expense LPO issuance.
· Ensuring Compliance with Municipality and reporting all issues.
Matters of warehousing, product expiry and disposal of non-complaint stock would be matter of concerns to be reported and worked out.
· Monitoring Staff Cost Structure and Hiring Plan vs.
Budget and Overtime and Leave balance
· Preparing and Organizing Monthly Performance Review on Financials, stock, expenses, sales, % Margin and counter cash flow.
· Initiating Waste and Shrinkage Committee consisting of Upper management, Department heads and Section Managers.
· Participating in the Store Meeting Process (Daily Briefing, Weekly Meeting, Monthly Performance Review)
· Creating and Initiating Finance Training for Team
· Organizing all Store Inventories such to that the fall in targets of Budget and required Margin
· Controlling Policy and Procedures of the Stores as per Business Best Practices and Internal Audit.
Guidelines and inputs from HO-Internal Audit would be exercised, implemented and reported accordingly.
· A full professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACPA or CA interim
· Degree from an accredited university with a major in business and accounting, MBA / Master in commerce is an added advantage.
· More than 8 years of post-qualification experience, of which 3-5 in the supermarkets sector
· Excellent Knowledge of MS Office
