About the Role
The Staff Electrical Engineer will own next-generation deep-space compute and storage capability using terrestrial technologies for onboard systems.
The role covers spacecraft electronics across compute modules, network switches, storage nodes, and communications terminals.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and qualify high-performance spacecraft electronics.
- Balance computing and storage capability with spacecraft power, thermal, EMI, mechanical, and reliability constraints.
- Bring up core software infrastructure on spacecraft and ground systems with software partners.
- Lead development campaigns to evaluate technologies, derisk interfaces, and validate performance before integration.
- Work across internal and external teams to move concepts from analysis through prototypes to flight-ready systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years designing and delivering high-performance digital electronics.
- Experience leading the design, bring-up, and validation of sophisticated board-level electronics.
- Hands-on experience with challenging thermal and electromechanical environments.
- Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with non-volatile storage, mobile compute, or server-class computing is a plus.
- Experience designing multirail power converters with strict sequencing requirements.
- Experience with compute and storage survivability in space and radiation environments is a plus.
- Strong understanding of systems integration and risk management in development programs.
Compensation
- Hiring range is $175,000–$263,000 USD.
- Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
