About the role
Relativity Space is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for its Interplanetary Sciences Program.
The role owns next-generation deep-space compute and storage capability for spacecraft and ground systems.
The position has high responsibility, autonomy, and accountability in a fast-paced development environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and qualify spacecraft electronics including compute modules, network switches, storage nodes, and communications terminals.
- Balance compute, storage, bandwidth, power, thermal, EMI, mechanical, and reliability constraints.
- Collaborate with science and software teams on spacecraft and ground-side system infrastructure.
- Lead prototyping, early testing, interface derisking, and performance validation before full integration.
- Work with internal and external teams to develop flight-ready systems.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years designing and delivering high-performance digital electronics.
- Experience leading design, bring-up, and validation of sophisticated board-level electronics.
- Hands-on experience with challenging thermal and electromechanical environments.
- Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred experience
- Non-volatile storage, mobile compute, or server-class computing architecture or electrical design experience is preferred.
- Power supply design for digital electronics is preferred.
- Compute and storage survivability experience in space and radiation environments is preferred.
- Practical systems integration and development-program risk management experience is preferred.
Compensation
- The hiring range is $148,000 to $222,000 USD.
- Actual compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
- The total rewards package includes salary, equity, leave, and learning and development benefits.
