About the Role

Work hands-on in a fast-paced, prototype-heavy environment to iterate designs and deliver flight-ready systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems for space science avionics platforms.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis and testing.
- Build, test, and debug hardware in a laboratory environment.
- Lead delivery of flight-ready avionics mechanical systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally while rapidly iterating on designs and solving complex engineering problems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in mechanical design, packaging, or thermal management for aerospace or ruggedized electronic systems.
- Proven ability to deliver mechanical systems from concept through qualification and flight.
- Proficiency with CAD, such as SolidWorks, NX, or an equivalent tool.
- Experience using structural and thermal analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience building, testing, and debugging hardware in a lab environment.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NASA or other spaceflight structural verification standards and environmental testing and qualification.
- Experience designing mechanical systems for spaceflight avionics or payloads.
- Experience with high-density electronics cooling, including conduction, heat pipes, or cold plates.
- Knowledge of materials and processes for vacuum and radiation environments.
Compensation
- Hiring range is $150,000–$226,000 USD.
- Actual compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
