Airswift is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work in Qatar with a major oil and gas company.
The role focuses on corporate solutions, application operations, development support, reporting, databases, and end-user assistance.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering or Business field.
- Minimum 9 years of progressive and directly related experience.
- Strong knowledge of networks, systems, desktop applications, and databases.
- Experience in a remote technical support role, with multitasking, analytical problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
Systems and Application Support
- Use Intersystems Healthcare Database, Caché ObjectScript, and Intersystems TrakCare for systems operations.
- Apply .NET Framework experience to support system development and enhancement.
- Check Caché scripts for reports, automated tasks, and data-extraction reports to fix user-reported issues.
- Address application issues and enhancements raised by end-user departments through workarounds or coordination with ICT teams.
Databases and Reporting
- Use data-extraction techniques and participate in report development.
- Use Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Database for data management and system functionality.
- Run SQL and Oracle queries to extract and update data.
- Create and modify Crystal Reports.
Infrastructure and Change Support
- Log in to Windows Servers, install applications, modify registry keys, and manage application services.
- Troubleshoot minor issues in custom ASP.NET development using VB and C#.
- Provide remote access and coordinate technical support where required.
- Manage patches, updates, and new implementations as the application focal point.
Technical Skills
- Required technologies include Intersystems TrakCare, Intersystems Healthcare Database, Caché ObjectScript, .NET Framework, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Database, ASP.NET, VB, and C#.
- Familiarity with Crystal Reports is highly desired.
