Role Overview

Commissioning Lead responsible for process hook-up and commissioning activities on an offshore compression project.

The role is a 36-month contract in offshore Qatar with a 28 days on and 28 days off rotation.

The position reports to the Hook-Up and Commissioning Head.

Job Purpose and Accountabilities

  • Provide oversight and direction to contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during offshore hook-up and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with HUC, facilities, EPC, and operations teams and provide process technical guidance.
  • Review contractor procedures and redlines across construction, hook-up, precommissioning, and commissioning.
  • Support schedule recovery, supplier qualification, manpower assessment, progress verification, and asset handover readiness.
  • Witness testing, sign check sheets, participate in audits, and report findings with corrective plans.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering is required.
  • At least 12 years of large-project commissioning experience in the Oil & Gas industry is required.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory, acting, or service/vendor oversight experience is required.
  • Experience with hook-up and commissioning delivery, completions walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews is required.
  • Knowledge of process design, flow assurance, leak testing, compressor performance testing, and project completion systems is required.
  • Experience with LNG vendors, operating organizations, contractors, or service companies is required.

Technical and Business Skills

  • Strong organizational, leadership, coordination, planning, interface, and technical judgment skills are required.
  • The role requires analysis of complex issues, contingency planning, and effective problem solving.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and strong communication and influencing skills are required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and advanced computer literacy are required.
  • The position requires compliance with company LNG standards and the ability to travel as required.

Schedule

  • The working rotation is 28 days on and 28 days off.
  • The contract duration is 36 months with potential for extension.

Workplace

  • The role is based offshore in Qatar.
