SR. PROJECT ENGINEER

Role Overview

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in an engineering discipline from a recognized university.
• A higher degree is advantageous.
• Membership in a recognized professional engineering or project management association or institution is an added advantage.

Experience and Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major EPIC projects in the offshore oil and gas sector.
• Proven experience executing process or gas compression platforms, including jackets, topsides, bridges, and associated appurtenances.
• Strong communication skills, including presentation delivery, report writing, and meeting facilitation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and management for offshore process platforms and facilities.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate engineering deliverables and technical issue resolution.
• Prepare Project Execution Plans and participate in planning, cost control, budgeting, contract administration, reporting, change management, and stage gate approvals.
• Prepare scopes of work and tender packages, support tendering, and evaluate submissions.
• Monitor contractor and vendor performance, quality, milestones, and corrective actions.
• Identify, mitigate, track, and close out project risks and issues.
• Manage interfaces between contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and project quality standards.
• Review contractor claims, assess variations, and recommend final account settlements.
• Manage completion and handover, including certification, punch list close-out, documentation approvals, and project close-out.
• Prepare project progress reports and management presentations.
• Mentor junior or national staff through structured training and development.
