Role Overview

Airswift is sourcing a Senior Planning Engineer (Instrumentation) for a national operator.

This is a long-term contract role on a residential basis, based at Doha HQ and Qatar site.

The role covers planning and project control from initiation through close-out for offshore oil and gas projects.

Working Schedule

  • The working schedule is five days per week and eight to nine hours per day, or as required by the project.
  • The expected start date is ASAP, typically within one month of notice.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, progress verification, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain master plans, schedules, resource plans, risk inputs, change inputs, and close-out plans.
  • Maintain SAP Project Builder data and integrated resource planning information for reporting and analysis.
  • Provide early warnings, identify intervention opportunities, and support project outcome improvements.
  • Define planning and reporting requirements in tender documents and evaluate bidder technical proposals.
  • Review and endorse contractor programmes, recovery plans, resource plans, progress systems, and reports.
  • Analyze contractor performance, schedule variances, schedule risks, time impacts, and extension-of-time claims.
  • Calculate value of work done and provide progress and schedule inputs for budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
  • Participate in developing and implementing project planning procedures and work instructions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Sc. or equivalent degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • Certified PMP or equivalent certification or professional membership is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in planning offshore oil and gas projects is required.
  • At least five years of national oil company or international oil company experience is preferred.
  • Experience must include planning, scheduling, project control, monitoring, forecasting, risk assessment, claims analysis, and progress verification.
  • High computer literacy with MS Office and project-control software including Primavera is required.
  • Primavera Risk Analysis, Power BI, and GCC work experience are desirable.
  • Well-developed analytical and reporting skills are required.
