Library technician diploma, library and information studies credential, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of three years of experience in a legal, professional services, academic, corporate library or research environment.
Experience working with electronic resources, library management systems, catalogue records, metadata, serials, acquisitions, resource access, invoices, contracts and vendor coordination.
Experience with library management software such as EOS / SirsiDynix or similar applications, as well as web-based platforms, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 and related internal knowledge/resource portals.
Experience supporting subscription management, vendor communications, license coordination, invoice follow-up, billing platforms and/or purchasing systems such as Coupa or similar tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of legal reference services and an understanding of legal research tools, legal information sources and client-service expectations in a law firm or professional services environment.
Familiarity with AI-enabled legal research, information-management or productivity tools would be an asset, particularly in relation to responsible use, workflow support, data quality and resource access.
Strong oral and written communication skills. French language proficiency would be an asset.
Strong service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with key stakeholders to assess resource needs and build consensus on appropriate solutions.
Proven ability to share knowledge and practical guidance with colleagues and users in one-on-one or group settings.
Strong organizational, time-management and project-coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
Proficiency with integrated library management systems, electronic-resource platforms, catalogue tools, spreadsheets, reporting tools and Microsoft 365 applications.
Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new tools, including AI-enabled tools, automation features and evolving research/resource platforms.
Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to catalogue records, license information, vendor data, billing details, access credentials and usage/resource reporting.
Sound judgment and discretion when handling internal information, vendor communications, license terms, access credentials and confidential or sensitive matters.
Ability to identify practical process improvements and contribute to more efficient, documented and sustainable workflows.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a national, fast-paced team environment.
Ability to support occasional collection-related tasks, which may involve handling or organizing boxes of library materials.
