Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases
- Perform and interpret ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and ABPM
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, and Cardiac Surgery
- Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
- MD, DM, DNB, Arab Board, European Board, MRCP (Cardiology), or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Cardiology
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter as a Specialist Cardiologist
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of post specialization clinical experience in Cardiology
- Experience in performing and interpreting non invasive cardiac investigations

Job Summary
- The Specialist Cardiologist is responsible for providing comprehensive specialist cardiology services, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiovascular diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases.
- Conduct comprehensive outpatient consultations and inpatient reviews.
- Perform cardiovascular risk assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage conditions including hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart diseases (adult), and dyslipidemia.
- Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Refer patients for interventional or surgical management when clinically indicated.
- Provide emergency cardiac assessment and stabilization when required.
Diagnostic Procedures
- Perform and interpret ECG, echocardiography, exercise stress test, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
- Interpret cardiac imaging and laboratory investigations.
- Coordinate advanced diagnostic investigations including CT coronary angiography, cardiac MRI, or nuclear cardiology when appropriate.
Patient Care
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Promote preventive cardiology through risk factor management and patient education.
- Maintain continuity of care through regular follow up consultations.
- Ensure patient centered, ethical, and compassionate care.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Radiology, Cardiac Surgery, Endocrinology, Nephrology, and other specialties.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings.
- Coordinate referrals and discharge planning.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic medical records.
- Adhere to DHA regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with evidence based clinical guidelines and ethical standards.
Academic & Professional Development
- Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications.
- Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and research activities when applicable.
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- MD, DM, DNB, Arab Board, European Board, MRCP (Cardiology), or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Cardiology.
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter as a Specialist Cardiologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of post specialization clinical experience in Cardiology.
- Experience in outpatient and inpatient cardiology services.
- Experience in performing and interpreting non invasive cardiac investigations.
- Experience in multidisciplinary healthcare settings is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical expertise in cardiovascular medicine.
- Proficiency in ECG, Echocardiography, Stress Testing, and Holter interpretation.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision making skills.
- Strong communication and patient counseling abilities.
- Knowledge of DHA regulations, clinical governance, and quality standards.
- Competency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and evidence based practice.
