About the Role
The Arts Club Dubai is hiring a Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen as an independent profit center. The role involves creating high-quality food items, managing costs, and training kitchen staff.

Responsibilities
- Create and produce high quality daily and seasonal food items
- Assist Executive Chef in developing and changing menus
- Conduct regular demonstrations of existing or new dishes
- Ensure kitchen is managed efficiently and sections are prepared for service
- Coordinate menu plans, descriptions, costing, and breakdown of dishes
- Make purchases of food and kitchen items within budget
- Carry out stock take of food items
- Provide support and training to kitchen sections
- Ensure colleagues follow hygiene, stock rotation, and safety rules
- Be proactive in preventing waste of food and minimizing consumption of utilities
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in same role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurant, preferably Michelin starred
- Internationally recognized professional certification
- Skilled in classic fine dining cuisine with modern twist
- Excellent level of English, written and spoken
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent team management skills with strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to work long shifts and stand for extended periods

Position Overview
- Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in running the assigned kitchen as an independent profit center.
- Ensure maximum member satisfaction and deputise in Head Chef's absence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and produce high quality daily and seasonal food items
- Assist Executive Chef in developing and changing menus
- Conduct regular demonstrations of existing or new dishes
- Ensure kitchen is managed efficiently and sections are prepared for service
- Coordinate menu plans, descriptions, costing, photographing and breakdown
- Make purchases of food and kitchen items within budget
- Carry out stock take of food items
- Provide support and training to all sections of the kitchen
- Ensure colleagues follow hygiene, stock rotation, dating, storage, temperature control
- Be proactive in preventing waste of food and over production
- Minimize consumption of gas, electricity and water
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in same role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurant
- Internationally recognized professional certification
- Skilled in classic fine dining cuisine with modern twist
- Excellent level of English, written and spoken
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent team management skills with strong problem solving abilities
- Demonstrate integrity and maintain high level of confidentiality
- Self motivator ready to challenge for continuous improvement
- Ability to work long shifts and stand for extended period
