Role Overview
A fine-dining restaurant in Palm Jumeirah is seeking a creative and motivated Sous Chef.
The Sous Chef acts as second in command and follows and enforces the executive chef's requirements and guidelines.
The role includes creating seasonal menus and meal designs and supporting the kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Develop menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
- Assist with meal design preparation and planning.
- Ensure kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
- Resolve customer problems and concerns personally.
- Monitor inventory, record stock, and order supplies when needed.
- Support junior kitchen employees with line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
- Recruit and train kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
- Create employee schedules and evaluate performance.
- Implement sanitation and safety regulations.
- Manage the kitchen team when the executive chef is absent.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
- Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
- Teamwork orientation with outstanding leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Work is performed in person.
