Job Description

  • Plan, organize, and direct all food preparation activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, bringing innovative ideas while ensuring cost effectiveness.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and supply chain to optimize resources and minimize waste.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health codes, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items according to established specifications.
  • Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment efficiently.
  • Monitor food temperatures and storage procedures to ensure freshness, quality, and food safety.
  • Schedule kitchen staff shifts and manage discipline when necessary.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring workstations are clean, organized, sanitized, and properly stocked.
  • Make quick, decisive decisions during service to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Cooperate and comply with OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
  • Take reasonable care for health and safety of self and others.
  • Do not adversely interfere with OSH provisions.
  • Follow OSHMS procedures as applicable.
  • Raise identified OSH issues with designated persons.
  • Report all near miss/hazard/unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Use appropriate PPE and safety systems.
  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Attend OSH training as required.
  • Maintain all OSHMS records as required.
