- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring cost effectiveness and adherence to standards
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and supply chain to optimize resources and minimize waste
- Ensure compliance with health codes, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items according to specifications
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment efficiently
- Monitor food temperatures and storage procedures to ensure freshness and safety
- Schedule kitchen staff shifts and manage discipline when necessary
- Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring workstations are clean and stocked
- Make quick decisions during service to resolve issues and maintain efficiency
- Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a high volume kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods

Job Description

- Make quick, decisive decisions during service to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency.

Qualifications
- Cooperate and comply with Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in regards to OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves, environment and others at work.
- Do not adversely interfere with anything provided for OSH.
- Do not interfere adversely with anything in place to control OSH risks.
- Cooperate with organization with respect to actions and or action taken to protect the employee/ OSH requirements.
- Follow OSHMS procedures as applicable.
- Raise identified OSH issues with designated persons and take part in OSH consultative OSH requirements.
- Report all near miss/ hazard/ unsafe/ conditions or act.
- Use appropriate PPE and safety systems.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Attend OSH training as required by the training needs analysis.
- Maintain all OSHMS records as required by the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island.
