Role Overview
The Software Engineering Lead is a hands-on subject matter expert, engineering leader, and people manager.
The role is responsible for a cross-functional team delivering a defined set of products and services.
The role combines technical leadership, delivery ownership, and people management.
Engineering Leadership and Culture
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Build an inclusive and psychologically safe culture and resolve conflict constructively.
- Provide line management to direct reports and act as an independent escalation point.
- Handle absence management, performance management, disciplinary matters, complaints, and problem resolution.
- Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development.
Product and Delivery Excellence
- Own delivery outcomes for predictability, throughput, quality, and customer value using delivery metrics.
- Drive planning, capacity management, dependency management, and feasible transparent delivery plans.
- Balance product growth with technical enablement, technical debt, reliability, and security.
