Senior Software Engineer II

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.
• Provide design input across a product and act as the go-to person for coding and technical issues.
• Work directly with customers and end users and translate their requests into solutions.
• Interface with technical personnel and team members to finalize requirements.
• Write and review detailed specifications for system components of moderate complexity.
• Complete complex bug fixes.
• Mentor software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.

Experience and Education

• At least 9 years of software engineering experience is required.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience, is required.
• Expertise in industry technology language development trends, software processes, and architectural principles is required.

Technical Qualifications

• Expertise in Java, Apache Camel, and Spring Boot is required.
• Expertise in AWS services including ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda, CloudFormation, and AWS database operations is required.
• Knowledge of React frontend development is required.
• Expertise in resolving security vulnerabilities in open-source Java technologies is required.
• Expertise in test-driven development and applicable software development methodologies such as Agile is required.
• Strong proficiency in data manipulation language and optimization techniques is required.

Payments and Leadership

• Knowledge of payment processors and experience developing and integrating payment web services is required.
• Experience partnering with and leading internal and external technology resources to solve complex business needs is required.
• Experience with managed services or staff augmentation resource models is required.
• Strong knowledge of external resource development best practices is required.

Professional Skills

• Strong organization, project planning, time management, change management, delegation, and prioritization skills are required.
• Advanced problem-solving experience leading teams through complex troubleshooting, solution development, risk assessment, and schedule adjustments is required.
• Advanced verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.
