About the Role
WEX Mobility Engineering delivers fleet management and mobility payments solutions through SaaS and APIs.
The Staff Software Engineer provides deep technical leadership across multiple teams and services while remaining hands-on in foundational areas.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Define architecture across Mobility services and resolve cross-team bottlenecks.
- Lead architecture reviews and workshops across engineering, product, security, compliance, operations, and partner teams.
- Establish reusable architectures, libraries, frameworks, and engineering patterns.
- Set standards for APIs, service contracts, versioning, compatibility, and integration patterns.
- Design secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient fleet management and mobility payment systems.
- Lead security, compliance, threat modeling, API protection, authorization, PCI DSS, and auditability practices.
- Define observability, SLI/SLO, operational readiness, chaos testing, and resilience standards.
- Create reusable CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code patterns using Helm, Argo, Terraform, and secure cloud templates.
- Drive systemic fixes for defects, reliability issues, incidents, and operational toil.
- Mentor engineers, evaluate technology adoption, support responsible AI solutions, and maintain durable technical documentation.
