Team and Role
WEX Mobility Engineering provides SaaS and API solutions for fleet management and mobility payments customers and partners.
The role is part of the North America Mobility team and focuses on backend services supporting fleet cards, spend controls, and merchant configurations.
The position is described as a seasoned software engineering role within a development organization spanning the United States, Brazil, and India.
Engineering Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and develop public REST and internal gRPC APIs.
- Create system designs, lead technical decisions, and implement automated testing across unit, integration, end-to-end, concurrency, and performance levels.
- Identify bottlenecks and technical debt and improve application scalability, stability, monitoring, healing, and deployment automation.
- Collaborate on features with product managers, designers, and engineers and conduct code reviews while mentoring engineers.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, maintain engineering documentation, and provide live-site support.
- Lead cross-team projects as a single-threaded owner or technical lead and unblock other engineers.
