Role Summary
The SDE-AI is a senior engineer responsible for architecting and delivering mission-critical internal systems.
The role uses AI-augmented development alongside Claude, PHP, Symfony, and relational databases.
Ownership spans database design, user experience, feature delivery, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build full-stack systems from database schema to user interface.
- Own features through requirements, schema and API design, implementation, review, testing, deployment, and live support.
- Lead AI-assisted development and rigorously validate AI-generated code.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and maintain quality standards.
- Identify workflow, system, and data model improvements and drive them to production.
- Investigate root causes and resolve complex failures across system layers.
- Maintain architecture documentation, API specifications, and database schemas.
Core Experience
- 6 to 7 years of professional software development experience with ownership through production.
- Expert PHP 8+, Symfony, and Twig proficiency, including Symfony 5+ or a similar framework such as Laravel.
- REST API design, form handling, and security hardening experience.
- Deep relational database knowledge, with PostgreSQL mandatory; NoSQL is preferred.
- Prior AI-assisted development experience using Claude AI, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Mastery of Git, architectural design, technical communication, and system trade-off analysis.
Additional Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
- Good understanding of one cloud platform component from AWS or Azure.
- Front-end fundamentals including HTML, CSS, and Vue.js or React.
- Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Python or Bash scripting for data pipelines, testing, and DevOps tasks.
- Unit testing, integration testing, TDD, performance benchmarking, and application security expertise.
- Experience with advanced or agentic AI tooling, model limitations, and prompt engineering.
