Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Node.js backend systems and microservices focused on performance and reliability.
- Develop RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI standards, with occasional use of GraphQL.
- Optimize MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis databases, including indexing and query performance.
- Lead architecture decisions, code reviews, and system design for modular services and monolith-to-microservice migrations.
- Use Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar systems for inter-service communication.
- Implement backend security controls including JWT, OAuth2, rate limiting, data masking, SQL injection protection, XSS protection, and CSRF protection.
- Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teams on Agile integration, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
- Create automated tests and maintain API specifications, runbooks, and architectural documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and developing backend systems, APIs, and scalable microservices.
- Proficiency in Node.js and working knowledge of Express.js, Django, or Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL API standards and OpenAPI or Swagger documentation.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, legacy system decomposition, and cloud-native deployment.
- Comfort with Git, Docker, Postman, and Swagger.
- Experience deploying services on AWS, Azure, or another major cloud platform.
