- Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment
- Diagnose, disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
- Conduct customer, manufacturer, and government mandated inspections
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as fluid and filter changes
- Execute advanced mechanical repairs including engine and transmission diagnosis
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety rules
- Mentor and oversee apprentices
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, or Truck/Transport
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Strong time management and communication skills

Overview
- Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Mount Pearl Construction & Forestry location.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate within budgets and approvals established by the Service Manager.
- Maintain high levels of productivity, efficiency, and gross margin.
- Achieve and uphold a quality of work metric of 98%.
- Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment.
- Diagnose, disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
- Conduct customer, manufacturer, and government mandated inspections.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as fluid and filter changes.
- Execute advanced mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission diagnosis.
- Maintain current product knowledge specific to equipment and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Follow all safety rules and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards.
- Mentor and oversee apprentices.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Trade qualification (Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Truck/Transport).
- 3 years’ relevant experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Possess computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
- Possess diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
- Possess strong time management skills to perform under pressure.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
