Senior Venture Control Accountant

Job Purpose

Financial Accounting

• Account for revenues and ensure correct invoice coding.
• Perform month-end reconciliations between volumes and production allocation reports.
• Complete quarterly price adjustment reconciliations and post adjustment invoices.
• Coordinate monthly account reconciliation processes and perform assigned reconciliations.
• Review operating costs, capacity usage reconciliations, lease postings, and cash call accounting.

Forecasting and Tax

• Compile cash forecasts for technical SAP companies by coordinating and reviewing inputs from finance areas.
• Review cash forecasts for reasonableness before submission to treasury.
• Perform monthly tax calculations and coordinate inputs from Asset & Materials, Allocation, and Planning.
• Prepare and calculate tax after the TPOB regime expiry and address shareholder representative queries.

Reporting and Planning

• Contribute to annual financial statements and draft financial notes in line with current IFRS reporting standards.
• Prepare monthly shareholder reporting and resolve internal and external stakeholder queries.
• Produce PPI, QCB, sales, foreign investment survey, energy survey, and ad hoc reports.
• Complete quarterly reporting and forecasting requirements for the majority shareholder.
• Upload production volume data and associated revenues into BPC and maintain planning-system input integrity.
• Contribute to the annual budget and long-term business plan.

Controls and Master Data

• Coordinate approval and implementation of master data requests and maintain consistent reporting hierarchies.
• Maintain understanding of the compliance framework, address control gaps, and recommend process changes.
• Ensure an effective control environment, including application of the Table of Financial Authority.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or commerce is required.
• A bachelor's degree in another discipline plus an internationally recognized professional accounting qualification is an alternative.
• Recognized qualifications include ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, and CPA.
• At least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems is required.
• Strong specialized financial knowledge in consolidation, compilation, and analysis is required.
• Strong commercial knowledge related to the oil and gas industry is required.
