Job Purpose
Execute hands‑on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of rotating equipment across ADNOC Offshore facilities.
Ensure safe, effective, and compliant maintenance of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, generators, and rotating systems that support production continuity and equipment integrity.
Support commissioning and startup of new rotating machinery, participate in project documentation reviews and handover, and contribute to reliability improvement initiatives.
Act as a senior technical resource for junior technicians, promoting a strong safety culture and high technical performance.
• Rotating Equipment Maintenance (Execution & Troubleshooting)
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, blowers, and utility packages.
- Diagnose mechanical faults, verify failure causes, and carry out repairs such as bearing replacement, alignment, seal replacement, and balancing.
- Conduct post‑maintenance test runs to verify equipment efficiency and operational readiness.
- Execute condition‑based maintenance activities based on vibration readings, oil analysis results, and temperature/pressure trends.
• Support Commissioning & Startup Activities
- Assist commissioning teams during installation, alignment, pre‑commissioning, and functional testing of new rotating machinery.
- Participate in project documentation review, including vendor manuals and commissioning records.
- Support acceptance, punch list closeout, and handover of rotating equipment packages.
• Predictive & Preventive Maintenance
- Perform predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration checks, thermography, acoustic detection, oil sampling, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with OEM manuals, ADNOC procedures, and rotating reliability requirements.
- Technical and Reliability Support
- Identify reliability risks related to rotating equipment and escalate persistent failures to Supervisor or Rotating SMEs.
- Provide feedback to improve PM routines, inspection frequencies, and procedural updates.
- Assist in RCA investigations for rotating failures and help implement corrective actions.
- Apply best practices in rotating equipment maintenance to improve MTBF and reduce unplanned shutdowns.
• Materials, Tools & Equipment Management
- Identify spare parts and tools needed to complete rotating maintenance tasks.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of bearings, seals, couplings, and precision components.
- Maintain, inspect, and report conditions of specialized rotating tools such as dial indicators, laser alignment tools, bearing heaters, torque wrenches, and portable vibration devices.
• Documentation, Reporting & CMMS Updates
- Record maintenance work, failure findings, and job details in CMMS (MAXIMO).
- Maintain and update rotating equipment maintenance histories, alignment records, inspection reports, and test run logs.
- Provide accurate daily activity reports and inputs for maintenance dashboards.
- Support to Junior Staff
- Share technical knowledge and mentor junior and trainee technicians, especially in safe handling of rotating equipment.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and guide new staff during troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
• Policies, Systems & Procedures
- Follow all ADNOC maintenance policies, procedures, COPs, and HSEMS controls.
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, confined space entry, SIMOPS, and other safety systems.
• Safety & Sustainability
- Maintain strong commitment to HSE in all rotating equipment operations.
- Identify hazards during maintenance and take corrective action immediately.
- Participate in drills, emergency response roles, and toolbox talks.
- Report unsafe conditions, near‑misses, and equipment abnormalities promptly.
- Tool Management
- Ensure all tools, PPE, and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
- Report defects and arrange for timely repairs or replacements.
• Time & Work Management
- Complete assigned work within planned timeframes and escalate issues that may delay execution.
- Coordinate with supervisor for additional resources when required.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for optimizing rotating maintenance tasks and system improvements.
- Support improvement initiatives related to reliability, safety, and performance.
- Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment before, during, and after job execution.
- Reporting
- Provide technical information for maintenance progress reports, KPI tracking, and rotating equipment performance summaries.
Internal
- Daily interaction with Rotating Supervisor, Mechanical Technicians, Planning, Operations, HSE, FI/BU, and Reliability teams.
- Coordination with shutdown planning teams and control room personnel.
- Support senior staff during technical reviews and maintenance planning.
External
- Contact with OEM specialists, service representatives, and rotating equipment vendors.
- Interface with contractors and project teams during commissioning, testing, and maintenance activities.
Minimum Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum Experience
- 6+ years’ experience in mechanical maintenance of rotating equipment in oil & gas.
- Experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, and utility rotating systems.
- Exposure to commissioning, startup, shutdown, and project handover processes.
Professional Certifications

Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hands‑on skills in rotating machinery maintenance, alignment, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of bearings, mechanical seals, couplings, lubrication systems, and vibration fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, rotating equipment drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and reliability improvement methods.
- Competence in CMMS (MAXIMO preferred).
- Commitment to safety and hazard identification.
- Good communication, teamwork, and mentoring ability.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
