About the Role
ENGIE seeks a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead technical development of large thermal power projects and decarbonization initiatives in the AMEA region.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical definition of the project and manage selection of technologies, specifications, and configuration.
- Manage/review all project related studies during bidding/development phase till hand over to execution.
- Lead technical development and documentation of contractual agreements during development/bidding and negotiation stage.
- Contribute to technical qualification of EPC Contractors.
- Manage main equipment supplier selection with the EPC contractor.
- Develop CAPEX and OPEX cost for the project based on technical assumptions.
- Liaise with lenders and Lender's Engineer for due diligence prior to Financial Close.
- Act as SPOC for ENGIE Group Research & Innovation programmes and lead decarbonisation initiatives.
- Lead qualification, tendering, selection and management of third party engineering consultants.

- Engineering degree
- Minimum 15 years of experience
- Experience in projects technical development
- Experience in bid preparation
- Experience in thermal power generation projects (preferably CCGT)
- Experience in engaging and working with engineering consulting firms
- Experience in preparing and negotiating contractual documents (WPA, PPA, EPC, etc.)
- Fluent English

Objective
- The Senior Technical Project Manager leads technical development of large power projects and supports decarbonization initiatives in AMEA region.
- Responsible for supporting PPA extensions of existing thermal assets, development of greenfield thermal power projects, asset decarbonization, and assessment of new technologies.
Technical Project Management
- Provides technical definition of the project and manages selection of technologies, specifications, configuration, performance analysis.
- Manages/reviews all project related studies during bidding/development phase till hand over to execution.
- Leads technical development and documentation of contractual agreements during development/bidding and negotiation stage.
- Contributes to technical qualification of EPC Contractors.
- Manages main equipment supplier selection with the EPC contractor.
- Animates and manages technical review meetings with the EPC contractor to optimize plant design.
- Manages technical mark up and proposed deviations of bidding documents.
- Proposes and defines technical commercial optimizations with contractor(s).
- Prepares technical related part of project execution and operation in coordination with PMO team.
- Develops CAPEX and OPEX cost for the project based on technical assumptions.
- Liaises with lenders and Lender's Engineer for due diligence prior to Financial Close.
- Ensures detail coordination with all internal stakeholders: BD, Construction, Operation, Legal, Finance and Procurement.
New Technologies and Decarbonisation Lead
- Acts as SPOC for ENGIE Group Research & Innovation programmes and community.
- Leads implementation of decarbonisation initiatives or projects and supports other team members.
- Maintains a technology watch.
- Fosters innovation culture by coordinating and animating knowledge sharing.
Lead on Engagement of Third Party Engineering Consultants
- Keeps market watch on engineering consultants.
- Leads qualification, tendering, selection and management of technical consultants on various AMEA projects.
Qualification/Experience
- Engineering degree, with minimum 15 years of experience.
- Experience in projects technical development.
- Experience in bid preparation.
- Experience in thermal power generation projects (preferably CCGT).
- Excellent capability in interpreting and optimising power plant design and performance; experience using Thermoflow software is a plus.
- Good understanding of thermal generation decarbonisation technologies, including renewable gases, CCUS.
- Experience in engaging and working with engineering consulting firms.
- Experience in preparing and negotiating contractual documents: WPA, PPA, PWPA, EPC, EPCM, subcontractors, O&M, LTSA, LTPRA, consultants’ contracts.
- Experienced in interfacing with BD team, legal team, finance team, construction team, operation team.
- Experience in managing and coordinating research and innovation programmes will be an advantage.
Character and Skills
- Pro active, autonomous, taking ownership of issues and drive to resolve them.
- Organized and rigorous.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders from different backgrounds.
- Languages: fluent English. Arab or French will be an advantage.
