Senior Technical Designer

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical details for quality and completeness.
• Recommend construction details and methods that communicate design intent.
• Lead and work closely with designers and the CAD team during design development.
• Coordinate design execution during construction to ensure projects meet required standards.
• Administer SOPs, checklists, and the project quality plan for post-contract services.

Additional Responsibilities

• Oversee working drawings, plans, models, and schemes using CAD software or redline markups.
• Survey buildings and attend sites to capture existing conditions and prepare technical solutions.
• Prepare drawing checklist items and update the project quality plan.
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO, local building regulations, operator manuals, and design standards.
• Supervise design development, documentation, and post-contract site services.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, manufacturers, contractors, and specialist consultants.
• Review shop drawings, approve material samples, and conduct site quality reviews and inspections.
• Coordinate detail drawings with kitchen, spa, signage, lighting, and FF&E teams.
• Track missing information, maintain deadlines, and support complete documentation packages.
• Lead by example and maintain the company's service standards and values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong administrative, record-keeping, reporting, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Experience in the site construction phase and ability to advise on technical solutions.
• Passion for the design industry, motivation, and a team-player attitude.
