About the Role
Petrofac is seeking a Senior Supervisor for Construction (Lifting) to oversee lifting and rigging operations on oil & gas projects. The role requires extensive experience in rigging supervision, lift planning, and compliance with HSSE policies.

Responsibilities
- Review lift plans for Non Routine (Complex and Critical Categories), Weighing procedures, and Loadout Manuals
- Develop lift and haul schedules at site and optimize utilization of lifting resources
- Assess lifting/hauling operations for planning, crane selection, and safety precautions
- Support development of lift studies, heavy haul plans, weighing and loadout plans, method statements and JSAs
- Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting/Hauling inspections and procedure compliance
- Monitor project lifting & rigging operations to ensure compliance with approved plans
- Ensure all lifting/hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified
- Ensure all personnel involved are trained, competent and certified
- Review and approve routine lift plans, rigging & lifting procedures and lift studies
- Support in conducting Verification of Competency assessments onsite
Requirements
- Minimum years of experience in rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company
- Minimum years of experience as a rigging supervisor
- College graduate, preferably an engineer
- Extensive knowledge of lifting and rigging international standards like ASME, OSHA
- Formal training by an approved third party training institute accredited by OPITO
- Familiar with PTW system
- Able to coordinate possible SIMOPS
- Good communication skills

Key Responsibilities
- Review lift plans for Non Routine (Complex and Critical Categories), Weighing procedures, and Loadout Manuals with CSO department.
- Work closely with Construction lead and team leads to develop lift and haul schedules at site.
- Assess lifting / hauling operations for planning, crane selection, and safety precautions.
- Support in developing lift study, heavy haul plans, weighing and loadout plans, method statement and JSA’s.
- Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting / Hauling inspections and procedure compliance.
- Monitor project lifting & rigging operations to ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with approved plans.
- Qualified person for all Load out, Load in and Erection activities using lifting equipment.
- Ensure all lifting / hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified.
- Ensure all personnel involved in lifting / hauling operation are trained, competent and certified.
- Reviewing and approving routine lift plan, rigging & lifting procedure and lift studies.
- Confirm effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and take corrective action.
- Ensure implementation of Petrofac procedures and subcontractor adherence.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum years of experience in rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company.
- Minimum years of experience as a rigging supervisor.
- Must be college graduate, preferably an engineer.
- Preference for experience in CIS/FSU, Middle East, and/or North Africa.
- Prior experience with diverse international workforce.
- Good communications skills.
- Extensive lifting and Rigging International Standards knowledge like ASME, OHSA.
- Trained and competent per local legal requirements (e.g., Abu Dhabi EHSMS Code of Practice).
- Formal training by approved third party training institute accredited by OPITO.
- Authorized in writing by employing company and Petrofac.
- Able to produce working reports.
- Familiar with PTW system.
